For the rest of us it becomes a little more complicated than that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the\u00a0<strong>Audiophile\/Basshead\/Ground Pounder\/Bass Enthusiast<\/strong>\u00a0or what ever label you have attached getting an\u00a0<strong>Subwoofer Enclosure<\/strong>\u00a0designed and made is bit more of a personal decision, since you will be looking for a specific\u00a0sound so the time spent on designing\/testing\/listening to different\u00a0<strong>Subwoofer Enclosures<\/strong>\u00a0will be more important than it would be for the general end user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/9912LoadedHorn1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/9912LoadedHorn1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-919\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/9912LoadedHorn1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/9912LoadedHorn1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>(Ashley\u2019s Horn-Enclosure for his DD-9912-D1)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have found the sound (Or tuning as some would put it) you are looking for you can almost start on building your&nbsp;<strong>Subwoofer Enclosure<\/strong>, before you start you should really have a good think about the material you will be using as this will also change the overall sound of the&nbsp;<strong>Subwoofer Enclosure<\/strong>&nbsp;too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Generally most people will use&nbsp;<strong>MDF<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>(Custom-wood)<\/strong>, the reason for this is not because it has a good sound characteristics about it but more to do with it being a lot cheaper to buy. Other people will use a&nbsp;<strong>Plywood<\/strong>&nbsp;as this does have good sound characteristics&nbsp;<strong>(And Strength)<\/strong>&nbsp;depending on the type of Plywood used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In some cases using Plywood for some of your\u00a0<strong>Subwoofer Enclosure<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>MDF<\/strong>\u00a0for the rest can give you a nice solid sound an increase in strength depending on where the veneer is used.
