{"id":368,"date":"2015-03-06T15:39:43","date_gmt":"2015-03-06T02:39:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/?p=368"},"modified":"2019-02-13T15:45:17","modified_gmt":"2019-02-13T02:45:17","slug":"dd-audio-510-d4-x4-hit-a-mammoth-153-5db","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/dd-audio-510-d4-x4-hit-a-mammoth-153-5db\/","title":{"rendered":"DD Audio 510-D4 x4 Hit a Mammoth 153.5dB!!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As the <strong>dB Drag Season<\/strong> has come back around it was finally time to test the <strong>10\u2033 x 4 Sub-Woofer Box<\/strong> that we got the <strong>150.1dB<\/strong> with the entry level <strong>10\u2033 Sony\u2019s<\/strong>. We had fitted the <strong>DD Audio 510-D4 Sub-Woofers<\/strong> almost four to five months prior to this test and had only run them in on light music. From what I could tell they sounded quite good even though they were tuned higher to my personal preference since it is a <strong>\u2018Burp\u2019<\/strong> box but in saying that the high tune suits <strong>Darryl\u2019s<\/strong> musical taste to a tee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-1-360x240.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Since we had tested everything from the <strong>DD-512-D4\u2019s<\/strong> to the <strong>DD-Z18<\/strong> in <strong>ABTEC3 (Toyota Vitz)<\/strong> over the past year either on <strong>\u2018Burps\u2019<\/strong> or on our <strong>\u2018Sounds Alive\u2019<\/strong> music class I thought it was about time to do some testing with the <strong>DD-510-D4\u2019s<\/strong> and see what I could get out of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had given the <strong>DD-510-D4\u2019s<\/strong> a quick test two nights before the\u00a0<strong>V 4 &amp; Rotary SPL &amp; Sounds Alive Sound Off<\/strong> so I had a very good idea of the result I was going to get, the hard part was keeping my mouth shut since I was blown away with the result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-377\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-2-360x240.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After a\u00a0<strong>635Km<\/strong> drive from <strong>Wellington<\/strong> to<strong> Auckland<\/strong> it was time for a quick nap, then of to the\u00a0<strong>V 4 &amp; Rotary SPL &amp; Sounds Alive Sound Off. <\/strong>Once at the event everyone was having a peek in the windows of competitors cars seeing what we all were running, I even recall a couple of people chuckling to themselves that I was running <strong>10\u2033 Sub-Woofers<\/strong> at a <strong>Sound Off<\/strong> not knowing that I had a <strong>150+dB<\/strong> in them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-3.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-378\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-3-360x240.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once we had setup the <strong>dB Drag<\/strong> site setup it was time for me to go through my routine of checking and rechecking my car making sure nothing was forgotten, there has only been one change to my system of late and this is my <strong>Alpine Head-Unit<\/strong> that is attached to a pedestal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has finally got to the point where the <strong>CD<\/strong> skips from <strong>\u2018Burps\u2019<\/strong> so having the <strong>Head-Unit<\/strong> outside the car made perfect sense, not only does it solve the problem with the <strong>CD<\/strong> skipping but also is a good fail-safe since I no longer have to rely on a remote control if something goes wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-4.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-4.jpg 600w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-4-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-4-360x240.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I must admit I got a few odd looks when I carried the pedestal out to <strong>ABTEC3<\/strong> and started hooking it all up, which is to be expected when the smallest car at the <strong>Sound Off<\/strong> with the smallest <strong>Sub-Woofers<\/strong> pulls up to get tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once everything was hooked up and ready it was that time again, time to give the <strong>DD-510-D4\u2019s<\/strong> some juice and see what magical numbers it puts out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-5.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-5.jpg 600w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-5-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/DD-510-5-360x240.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see above <strong>Ashley \u2018MAD BASS\u2019 Burrell<\/strong> &amp; I were and still are wrapped with the result, how could we not be too!
