This blog is about a coil\/cone\/basket replacement on a seven year old <strong>DD-3512-D2 Sub-Woofer <\/strong>that looks like it had lifetime of said abuse!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-11.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-11.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-324\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-11.jpg 600w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-11-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-11-360x240.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You are most likely cringing at the sight of the ripped rubber on this old <strong>DD-3512-D2 Sub-Woofer<\/strong>, I remember when I first saw it I kept thinking \u201cWow, that\u2019s had a hard life!\u201d. Since the Cone and Dust-Cap were never going to be used again <strong>Ashley \u2018MAD BASS\u2019 Burrell<\/strong> began cutting and slashing away with all his hearts content until the Cone was ready to be lifted out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-325\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-2-360x240.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that the Cone and Dust-Cap was removed it would usually mean it was time to start cleaning up the Basket\u00a0preparing it for the Re-Cone, this wasn\u2019t the case this time round since it was an older <strong>DD-3512-D2<\/strong> it mean\u2019t that the new style of Re-Cone would not fit. So there was only one choice here, that was to remove and\u00a0replace the old Basket for a newer one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-3.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-326\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hifihq.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/3512-3-360x240.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the old Basket was removed <strong>Ashley<\/strong> noticed that there was a Spacer used between the old Basket and Motor.
