DD Audio Z12 Product Review
Not only have had the chance to drive around with the beautiful sounding but yet so brutal DD Audio Z18 for over three months, but for the last two weeks I have had the DD Audio Z12-D2 in ABTEC1 or my daily driver as I call it.
You might recall me saying it is and was hard to go back to any other Sub-Woofer after running the Z18 and I can assure you I still feel very much that way! It has been quite a while since we had the Z18 in ABTEC1 and since then we have been looking for the perfect Sub-Woofer to refine the sound, after trying a few different set-ups Ashley ‘MAD BASS’ Burrell mentioned trying the Z12!
Ashley didn’t have to mention it twice as already being DD-Z crazy I thought it was the best idea I had heard all year, the next week felt like a year waiting for the Z12 box to be built and upholstered but was well worth the wait.
The sound that came out of the Z12 was just amazing, also keep in mind before the Z12 I was running four DD Audio 512’s. I know these two series of Sub-Woofers are worlds apart but in saying that I went from four Sub-Woofers to only one! From the low bass of Hip-Hop & Dubstep to the fast kicks of Rock & Metal the Z12 performs beautifully and precisely!

Yet again I am lost for words to fully describe another DD-Z and only people that have had the chance to experience one in the flesh would know the emotional attachment that one gets after listening to your favourite songs through a DD-Z!
After writing all of this I am now coming to the conclusion that the day I hand over ABTEC1‘s keys as my daily driver will be a very saddened one at that and that day is drawing closer than expected… Soon I will have another daily driver but I will keep my head up since on the weekend’s I will be driving ABTEC1 and blasting all my favourite songs on the Z12!
